Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Unfold (“Unfold,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Unfold mobile app and related services (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect information such as your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Apple, Apple may share your name and email (or a private relay email) with us based on your Apple settings.
Wedding planning content. You may store planning data in Unfold, including couple details, wedding dates and venues, events, tasks, guest information (such as names, contact details, RSVP status, and dietary notes), vendor details, outfit information, notes, and collaboration/invitation details.
Photos and media. If you choose to upload cover images, outfit photos, or receipt/bill photos, those files are stored so they can appear in your plan.
Device and notification data. If you enable notifications, we may store push notification tokens, platform information, a device identifier generated by the app, and your notification preferences so we can deliver reminders you opt into.
Usage and diagnostic data. On some platforms we may collect limited analytics or diagnostic events related to authentication and notifications (for example, whether an action succeeded or failed). We do this to operate and improve the Service.
Local device storage. The app may store session and preference data on your device (for example, signed-in session state and UI preferences).

3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information with service providers that help us run Unfold, including:
- Google Firebase — authentication, cloud database, file storage, and (where enabled) analytics
- Apple — Sign in with Apple
- Expo — app infrastructure and push notification delivery
Collaborators you invite may see wedding planning content shared with them according to their role. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Unfold and our users.
4. Data storage and retention
Wedding planning data is stored with our cloud providers so it can sync across your devices. We retain account and planning data while your account is active. If you delete your account in the app, we delete your authentication account and associated user profile, and we remove access to weddings you own or leave. Some residual data (for example, certain related records, media files, or invitation records) may take additional time to fully remove from backups or systems, or may need a follow-up request to support.
5. Your choices
- Account deletion: You can delete your account in the app (More → delete account).
- Notifications: You can disable notification categories in the app and revoke permission in your device settings.
- Photos: Photo library access is only used when you choose to add images.
- Sign in with Apple: You may use Apple’s Hide My Email option where available.
- Support requests: Contact us to ask questions about your information.
Unfold does not currently offer a self-serve data export feature. If you need a copy of your information, contact support and we will help where reasonably possible.
6. Children’s privacy
Unfold is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. International users
Unfold may be operated from the United States. If you use the Service from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or by email when appropriate.
